The following Tuesday, October 25 at 7 pm is Thundercrack! at the historic Grand Illusion Cinema. And we have a special guest. Greg Youmans specializes in queer cinema of the 1970s and is an assistant professor of Film Studies at Western Washington University in Bellingham and will be in Seattle to introduce the film and may even stick around of a Q&A after the 160 min film.
Thundercrack is definitely not for all tastes, think Tennessee Williams meets John Waters with hardcore sex. It is a dark and stormy night that brings a group of travelers to the creaky old estate of Mrs. Gert Hammonds. When not engaged in a sexual free for all, bizarre and often hilarious tales of gothic horror are spun as each character reveals their backstories. Just be warned that this queer adult horror comedy is known for record numbers of walkouts so while ridiculous, it’s not for the easily offended.
